Mullica River Wilderness, October 2018

Off and on storms throughout the weekend meant a planned family backpacking trip was scrubbed and I went for a quick overnight by myself instead. For my efforts I received an epic cold shoulder from my teenaged toddler in trying to say goodbye when she realized she wasn’t going with me.

Wound up going back to Mullica River, which I’ve definitely been to enough times this year. But it’s just so convenient. I was able to leave late Sunday, and be back mid-morning Monday. Packed super light and utilized my new 1-person tent to fit everything into my super small day bag. Managed to hike in just before dark and be well settled before more rain came in, then was treated to a glorious morning and hike out on a cool, sunny day.

Morning.
Red scrub.
Travelin’ light.
