Long weekend in San Carlos on the east side of the Gulf of California. View to the west from Caitlin’s & my hotel room overlooking a marina. Just around the near hill on the left is a small bay off the Gulf of California. The farther peak on the left side, with two distinct prominences, is Cerro Tetakawi, a small mountain that’s a defining landmark throughout the area.
Kayaking from the beach a few minutes’ walk from our hotel in a somewhat sheltered cove of the gulf. This little channel through a rock tip of the mainland would rise & fall quite a bit with each swell so we went back and forth a bunch of times.
Climbing up Cerro Tetakawi, inexplicably at the hottest point of the day…
Caitlin & I found the open range cows that Tim was real stressed about people being aware of while driving. Oddly they did not attack us as we walked by though Caitlin had assured me they would if we kept going toward them.
View from a lookout point on the other side of Tetakawi relative to our hotel.
Lunch on the beach and hiking a small island connected to that beach by a shallow land bridge.
