Having turned around with COVID near-ish the summit of Rainier on the Emmons Glacier at the start of July, I laid about in bed for a week or so. Feeling better, I happened to notice a last-minute opening in an RMI trip to Rainier via the Disappointment Cleaver (a rock formation). So I called the office first thing in the morning, threw all my stuff back in the car, hit the supermarket, and drove down to Ashford to join up.
Sadly we did not proceed past the Ingraham Flats at ~11,200 feet: Route conditions above the DC had been deteriorating all summer, with multiple ladder bridges and fixed lines, and an unusually large avalanche the morning we started out destroyed all of that route building.
